Monday 5th September 2011, New York.
We did a half time runner from Phantom of the Opera and started searching for a rooftop bar, where I planned to ask Nandi to take part in Wearelucky. We headed for The Standard Hotel and walked straight into some kind of swinger's club. All sorts of stuff was going on in the pool. We stuck around for a glass of Champagne as I tried to work out whether we'd gatecrashed a private party but it soon became clear that it was a free-for-all and we were way over-dressed.
We left and bought our way onto a roped-off table on the roof of the Gansevoort, where Nandi – with very little fuss – agreed to take part in Wearelucky.
